Station Histories

A short history of the IMD event is given in theEarly Days page of this Section.   This was compiled by Peter King (G3WKP) who is a founder member of the Cornish Amateur Radio Club and a very keen historian. It recalls some of  Marconi’s early days in Cornwall and shows some interesting photographs from the past.

The organisers would like to hear from all of our Participating Stations with details of the history behind their particular radio site. The aim is to build up a series of ‘thumbnail’ sketches that should be of interest to many of the amateurs who are seeking to win one of the Award Certificates.

We would also be delighted to receive some new photographs either historic in nature or, showing your groups activities at your Marconi Day station.

If you think that you have an interesting tale to tell, then please drop me an e-mail  and I will be pleased to publish your history here on our IMD Site.
