Chelmsford GB100MWT
Our account of the Site,
Our station and our participation in the event
Cars operate from a disused Water Works which now houses the Marconi
Collection owned by Chelmsford Borough Council and an original hut from
Writtle used by Marconi to generate the first public Broadcast Station in
the UK in early 1920s with the Call-Sign “2MT” (Two Emma Tock).
As it is surrounded by water our 80 Metre Doublet gets a good earth.
We will be running at least two stations – CW and SSB.
We only run 100 Watts as more will interfere with the on-site electronics
and telephone system.
Look on our Web Site for more details – Sandford Mill.
